In his teaching efforts, the e-learning professor has utilized a myriad of distance education and computer conferencing tools, organized colloquia related to teaching, supervised Associate Instructors, assisted in teacher education reform at two different universities, mentored dozens of graduate students into research, developed entirely new courses and programs, and invented a range of pedagogical strategies. Dr. Bonk's research and publications efforts, furthermore, include journal articles on unique applications of videoconferencing technology, articles on adult learning and education, book chapters on learning tools and web-based instruction, research on safety-net online case-based reasoning, manuscripts on improving college teaching, and books on electronic collaboration and learning with technology.
